Marrying a Relationship

One day while taking a walk one of my friends said that most of the Indian women do not marry a person, they marry a relationship and just laughed. The laughter and the words echoed and uneasiness filled my mind. Unthought-of questions stroke me that what this usual ritual requires a compromising soul, a submissive mind or a great personality. The answer my surprised mind would give is a great personality for the reason that to accept and love a person have some expectations and selfishness that is driven by nameless desires and fulfillment but the relationship binds the heart and soul with defined, conventional and inherited rights and duties. With the advent of new thoughts the ways have changed but not the ideologies. The Indian marriages hold the philosophy of union of two souls but the idea centered on materialistic dimensions and a reason for happiness of families and relatives and diluting one’s own nameless desires. Meeting the person with motive to reject or choose him or her and then making a decision considering not the person but all other things like the family, finance, education and decision of others leads a girl towards the relation and not the man. But unlike or like others I do not find myself to be so strong and strongly advocate the unreasonable and demanding emotions fails to marry me a relationship and not a man.
